We areIn The Black

Established in Cape Town's Century City, we are a dynamic production duo combining Soulful Clay's emotive production style with Starbird's versatile sonic approach. Our collective portfolio features collaborations with some of South Africa's most prominent artists, including Nasty-C, Anica Kiana, Rowlene, Paxton and Ziyon (Liquid Deep).

Our studio's foundation rests on Soulful Clay's SAMA-nominated production expertise and heartfelt songwriting, complemented by Starbird's analytical approach to creativity - challenging the notion that logic and artistry are mutually exclusive. This unique combination of methodical precision and soulful intuition sets our productions apart.

Our accolades include a SAMA nomination for production work on Paxton's 2023 album, victory at the Hunter Jaquel House Culture House Talent Search, and contributions to major campaigns like Hunter's Cider 'Refresh the Decks.' Together, we continue to push the boundaries of South African music production, offering artists a space where technical excellence meets emotional depth.
